Hand me the tee bee fermote for the bideo please

Here are some Averyisms we enjoyed the past few weeks:

"Daddy, are you going to shower on the chin?" = daddy shaving his face

"roses go in a vasement" = Avery looking for a container to hold mommy's flowers

"Look mom! I baked some water for you!"

"tee bee fermote" = TV remote

"bideeo" - video

"muffer's day" = mother's day

"Dear God, thank you for Batman. Amen" = Avery's bedtime prayer

"feedier" = theatre

"the star shop" = Avery reminded us that his toy did not come from a Happy Meal, it came from the "star shop" (Hardees) where Pa Pa shared his french fries with him.

"The vitamin is in the middle of my tummy."

Avery was having trouble falling asleep one night. I went in to check on him and to talk about what he was afraid of. After talking a bit, telling a story and singing, he was much better. He asked me to stay and sleep by him. I had to explain that mommy and daddy are married, and that daddy needed mommy to sleep by him. Avery said, "Momma, I'm going t marry you" so that I would stay with him. I reasoned that mommy was "already married to daddy first", but "someday Avery might be able to marry a girl too". Avery then informed me that he was going to marry Stella and Eisley, but not until he got bigger.

"Okaaay, everybodeeee! Take of your shoooes!" - an announcement Avery told us he made to all the boys and girls in Sunday school

“Hey momma, can you fight dad?” – Avery directed his parents to fight each other (like Iron Man) so he could watch and see who would win.

Many mornings after waking up, Avery is pretty grumpy or whiny until he gets something to eat. I gave him a choice between two cereals. He chose one cereal for himself, and I poured the other cereal for me. Then he changed his mind and whined because he wanted the other cereal. Thinking that maybe this was one battle I didn’t need to fight with him at the moment (although I was quietly annoyed and tired), I just simply switched the cereal bowls. Almost immediately his demeanor changed and he sweetly said, “Momma, you’re beautiful!”

Our little guy hates naps and bedtime. To ease him into the process and give him a little choice in the situation, we allow him to choose a toy to take to bed with him. His choice of a toy is often unique. The funniest one lately, however, was a wire mixing whisk.
