1.) eraser stamps (made from Jess' old DARE eraser from 6th grade)

Ways we’ve recently noted how Avery has grown in his independence:
1.) undresses and dresses himself (including buttons, shoes and coat – still needs help with zippers and snaps on jeans)
2.) retrieve his own water from the refrigerator when he is thirsty
3.) puts his dishes in the sink after a meal without being told
4.) wipes his own face and fingers after a meal, and also wipes spills from the table
5.) tears off tape on his own
6.) is beginning to uses scissors without as much frustration, can turn curves with them
7.) clicks open a pen, pulls open a marker cap and remember to put the cap back on
8.) learning to grip a pencil
Cute/memorable moments recently:
1.) Avery picks his "mommy" flowers (dandelions) from the yard and brings them in the house and puts them in a glass of water
2.) Avery "lets Mommy and Daddy take turns" reading him a bedtime story. Last night, he decided to "read" one to us, and even remembered to make the voice inflections we used to tell it to him.
Funny moments recently:
1.) Avery had his picture taken with Santa. While other kids were timid or afraid, he had no problem walking right up to Santa and purposely giving a goofy smile in only one take. After the photo was taken, Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas. Much to Santa's surprise, Avery flat out told him, "I want a gun."
2.) Our son made a bowling game out of a large ball and cones. He decided he was so good at it that he made himself a trophy. He bragged that his trophy was "BIG" and had "horsepower!".
3.) Although more annoying than funny at the time, Avery will often wake up early in the morning and yell from his bedroom "I WANT IT TO BE MORNING TIME!"
