Avery

Plays hide-and-seek with his Dad and counts from 1-10 in

Since age 5, Avery has made up his own characters that he
repeats in his stories and drawings and still uses them: (Bad Guys) Big Magic,
Big Boxer, Dr. Snake; (Good Guys) there is a “Super Avery” for each color of
the rainbow, but the most powerful is “Super Avery Red”
Avery playfully “trash talks” Clint while they are
wrestling. One time he exclaimed “YOU
are a bunch of PICKLES!!!”
Draws pictures and tries to sell them to his babysitters
Catching on to addition and subtraction very well – math
comes easy to him
Interested in volcanoes, germs and electricity
Our family sat in line in our van behind an old muscle car
while waiting to pull out of a parking lot.
It was running and the sound of the engine was a bit different. Clint was pointing out that old engines had
more of a powerful, yet scattered sound than today’s quieter engines. Avery said that it sounded “awkward”.
Enjoyed the fireworks for Independence Day this year, but
had to cover his ears since loud noises bother him.

Asked if the big baking stone was a “big cookie?”

Wants me to carry her so that she can flip off the light
switch with her toes and laugh
Her ceiling fan casts a shadow at night that scares
her. She says it’s a “pinching flower”.
Aileen loved the fireworks this year. She said “Fireworks loud….but I liked it!” When they started going off, she excitedly
said “They’re working!!”
Although she is scared of dogs, she is also curious about
them too as if she wants to pet them if she could warm up to them. She seems to be interested in animals in
general.
She loves being outside in nature…picking up sticks, picking
and sniffing flowers, touching tree bark, bending down to explore the dirt and
tiny rocks, pausing with a “shhhh!” to hear birds chirping, etc… She also enjoys a light breeze blowing
through her hair by closing her eyes and lifting her chin up to feel it.
