First Words

Avery has always liked to babble, so it is hard for us to pinpoint his exact first word. It may have been "da da". However, we do know that he is trying to ask for things now. "Crah-crah" means "cracker" (which is an item he asks for quite often!). Avery points to things as if he is asking us to say the word for him. This week, he has been interested in his "car" (which, by the way, he is proud to have accomplished the feat of getting on and off of it himself), "fan", "clock" and "sock". Twice this week when I have mentioned his "sock", he has pulled both of them off. In addition, he has made more efforts to interact and immitate us. Such as stealing my house slippers and running off with them laughing as if he was really clever to take mommy's shoes. Avery likes to grab each of my hands and clap them together himself, he applauds with the audience on "Wheel of Fortune", runs to the phone when it rings, tries to push buttons on the TV to turn it on, and attempts to touch the TV electrical cord when he wants attention. It is so fun to see more and more of his personality come through.

Can You Train A Toddler To Clean?

I am very happy that Avery noticed the broom. Clint and I have plans for him to use it someday if he wants to earn some spending money.
