October Averyisms
Avery caught his mom and dad standing up and hugging one another. Avery asked, "Can Avery get into the sandwich?"
One afternoon I caught Avery sneaking into a kitchen drawer, pulling out a rubber scraper, and then running around the house pretending to be "swatting cats".
When we had company over for lunch one afternoon, they asked why we kept our microwave unplugged. Later on during the visit, they found out when Avery tried to microwave his toy dinosaur.
At preschool, Avery only wants to color with a red crayon. We had to convince him that the "red needed other color friends to play with" before he would choose other colors.
(Mom) "Avery, can I have a hug and kiss before bedtime? (Avery) "Mommy, you can have LOTS of them!"
Avery asked, "Mommy, why do you take me into the girl's bathroom when I'm a boy?"
Avery really likes to eat his "chocolate cereal" (Coco Puffs) for breakfast. To ensure that he only gets his chocolate cereal and not the healthy cereal mom and dad eats, he asked us to "throw away" all the other types.
When drawing a circle, Avery scribbles at the ending point to "tie a knot in it".
Grocery shopping is still an experience with our son. He asked if pomegranates have "belly buttons" and always tries to convince us to buy a banana saver at the banana island.

Antics from our Entertainer
Avery squiggled red and yellow crayon over several characters in his coloring book because he wanted to "put mustard and ketchup" on them "to be funny".
"I love you better than pigs, mommy."
Our little boy thinks it's funny to eat "wild" rice.
Avery refers to the baby in his mommy's tummy as "My baby".
Avery wanted his mother to get up off of the chair so that she would play with him. So, he pretended to plant a "stink bomb" on the chair, and tried to convince her that the bomb went off and she needed to get away because it stunk.
"Mommy, I just want to sit on your tummy and hug the baby."
Avery tickles his mother's tummy and asks, "Is the baby laughing?"
"All that fresh air made me HUNGRY."
Avery tries to talk tough to his dad when they are having a tickle fight. It makes him laugh instead.
During rest time, Avery is supposed to lay on his bed and either sleep or read books quietly. One afternoon, he decided to play a trick on us. He put his stuffed chipmunk in the back of his toy dumptruck, creaked open the door just enough to get the vehicle through, and then pushed it down the hallway to try and scare us.
